There are very few who deny the greatness of diversity. Diversity in teams leads to innovation and creativity, and that is definitely something to strive for. We see, that it can be an issue for companies and individuals alike to make decisions outside of the norms, both in regards to attracting talents that don’t look like the rest of the pack and by stepping outside of the cultural wireframes.
The root of Mentor United are mentor programs but we are also focusing more on helping companies take charge of their Diversity, Equity and Inclusion initiatives by offering several services.
In 2019 Kelvina Wairimu founded Mentor United with the help and support of multiple stakeholder interested in diversity and technology. With a background in IT and interest in the development and affects of technology in society, Kelvina grew a deep interest in contributing with actions that could help ignite partnership and foster more inclusion in the tech space.
Kelvina has 5 years of experience as a mentor and is still actively involved in mentor programs for CBS, CareerMentor and in UNESCO's Youth and Ethics Steering Committee where she is contributing with an international mentor program. Through the years, Kelvina won "Mentor of the Year" through the Nordic Women in Tech Awards and been nominated as "Mentor of the Year" through CareerMentor.
