The root of Mentor United are our mentor programs. We focus on providing mentor programs in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathemathics (STEM) because of the inherent lack of diversity, inclusion and representation in those fields. Our mentor programs focuses on connecting minorities in the STEM field with experienced mentors. We also focus on helping companies take charge of their Diversity, Equity and Inclusion initiatives by offering several services.

In 2019 Kelvina Wairimu founded Mentor United with the help and support of multiple stakeholder interested in diversity and technology. With a background in IT and interest in the development and affects of technology in society, Kelvina grew a deep interest in contributing with actions that could help ignite partnership and foster more inclusion in the tech space. 

 

Kelvina has 5 years of experience as a mentor and is still actively involved as an active mentor. Through the years, Kelvina won "Mentor of the Year" 2019 through the Nordic Women in Tech Awards and been nominated as "Mentor of the Year" through CareerMentor.
